We are looking for a new event content producer with a passion for content, people and the tech industry.

LeadDev is known for content-first conferences with amazing talks and the human experience at the heart. We focus on helping software engineering leaders to become more effective in their roles and build inclusive, high performing teams and engineering orgs. We hold events in New York, Berlin, Austin, and London, as well as releasing daily articles, weekly live broadcasts, and other content on LeadDev.com. We work with the brightest folks in software engineering from companies like Netflix, Deliveroo, Spotify, Stripe, Buzzfeed, and The New York Times. 

The remit of this role is to work on the delivery of LeadDev’s event portfolio. Reporting to the Events Director, and working closely with the events marketing, operations, and sponsorship sales team, the Content Producer plays an integral role in the realisation of LeadDev’s global event portfolio – creating unique content that satisfies the needs of our audience.

Experience

  • Relevant experience gained through previous paid employment (likely 3–4 years in an event production role)
  • Experience working in technology/software engineering industry hugely beneficial

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability over personal remit
  • Knowledge of the LeadDev audience and their challenges is highly desirable (or proof of an ability to develop this in new industries)
  • Commercial understanding of the software engineering vendor landscape is highly desirable (or proof of an ability to develop this in new industries)
  • Must be able to build strong rapport and relationships with external contributors
  • Highly organized with strong planning, prioritiziation and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to transfer knowledge to the rest of the team in a concise manner

Key Responsibilities


Market Research

  • Conducting research into the issues engineering teams are facing
  • Developing deep understanding of the modern software engineering landscape
  • Identifying new content trends to update event content
  • Designing campaigns to receive audience feedback on LeadDev products

Knowledge Transfer

  • Sharing information with the wider team in easily understandable formats
  • Briefing wider team on each event
  • Joining the sales team on sponsor calls to add value with industry insights
  • Working with marketing team to create and refine value propositions for events
  • Supporting marketing team with content for marketing campaigns and marketing websites

Event Production

  • Leading production on a split of the events portfolio, as assigned by manager
  • Working together with rest of events team on aspects of larger events
  • Keynote speaker acquisition
  • Managing Call for Proposals software and CfP design
  • Creating and managing review committees
  • Crafting agendas alongside key LeadDev stakeholders

Strategy and Process

  • Contributions to event strategy for LeadDev’s portfolio
  • Documenting new event creation processes
  • Designing and developing new and existing event products to respond to market changes/demand

Salary range: £45,000–50,000, plus potential to earn a performance related bonus

Location: Remote, based in the UK, with the ability to travel to London at least once per month, and travel to Europe and the United States to run events.
