Handling projects that require working with older code is an inevitable part of an engineer’s career.  It can be daunting and hard to know where to start but the more engineers avoid legacy codebases, the more obsolete and expensive they become, which can affect an organization’s ability to progress with newer technologies and frameworks.

In this panel, a group of engineering leaders discusses the different approaches that they have taken when helping their teams work confidently with legacy systems.  We will discuss various approaches and practical ways to eliminate the uncertainty and apprehension that comes with working with unfamiliar codebases.

Key Takeaways:

  • Empower your team members to feel confident enough to work effectively with old code
  • Use working with legacy code as an opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills as a developer
  • Increase the mobility of your organization by ensuring that all your systems are compatible with the latest apps and programs
