There is a class of problems that we face as Staff+ engineers where the team has all the technical expertise they need already in the room, but for some reason they can’t make progress.

What they need is not more technical discussion or research, but rather someone who can bring clarity to the path forward, distill their many pros and cons into concrete risks, and finally push them to action. By way of an example of a recent AWS -> GCP migration, I’ll show that we’re all on this ship together, we know where we’re headed, but we just need to agree on what’s happening on the Lido Deck and when, and make it happen.
