Crystal Yan
Crystal Yan is a product leader focused on creating civic and social impact by designing human-centered products, teams, and organizations. She leads the product team for Passbook by Remitly, building banking and other financial services for immigrants and their families, and teaches design at the School of Visual Concepts.
Previously, she led product and design teams at the United States Digital Service, working on improving public services for 700,000+ asylum seekers and healthcare providers serving 57 million patients, and served as a public policy design fellow with New America Public Interest Technology, investing in and advising organizations advancing social safety net initiatives.
Prior to that, she worked on products and services for community organizers, policy and advocacy teams, and health educators. She has worked in the US, India, China, and Cambodia and spoken at technology and design conferences worldwide.
