Carly Robinson is a software engineer at Slack working on their international billing system (#TeamMoney). She has a degree from Northwestern University in Radio/TV/Film, and a minor in political science. Before becoming an engineer, Carly worked as a musical theater actress in Chicago and ran a nonprofit that worked to end human trafficking in NYC. Hackbright Academy helped her learn to code last summer. She likes pumpkin spice lattes, vim, yoga, and dreaming about learning guitar.
How to mentor Junior Engineers
To get her foot in the door, she had to convince very smart people that she could write software because she can do ballet. It took a few tries.
