We’re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Editor to work in our growing and talented team at LeadDev.

LeadDev is the home for software engineering leadership, providing the leaders of the technology industry with a variety of content which empowers them to build high-performing teams. This includes insightful articles, panel discussions, roundtables, and both virtual and in-person conferences and events.

As an editor at LeadDev, you’ll be editing and commissioning a range of articles produced by our awesome community members from companies like Netflix, Spotify, and The New York Times; a pool of freelance writers; the wider LeadDev content team, and commercial partners such as Twitter and Peloton. Reporting to the Editor in Chief, you’ll be pivotal in the finessing of our content, working closely with some of the most exciting people in software engineering to develop high quality, useful, insightful content. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute ideas and write for our website.

We are looking for a highly organized and self-motivated individual with strong planning, prioritization, and time management skills. You will be able to work under pressure and multi-task quickly and efficiently, all while maintaining a meticulous level of attention to detail and upholding the highest editorial standards. An eye for detail is key, as is the ability to work with various contributors to deliver consistently high value content that appeals to our growing audience and meets our high editorial standards.

Building relationships with our freelance and community authors will also be an important part of the role. You will be expected to brief authors, provide feedback, and hold them to deadlines. In addition, you will have a good working knowledge of our audience, as well as the importance of discoverability, the fundamentals of SEO, and the ability to support our social media strategy.

Candidates do not require in-depth knowledge of software engineering to apply for this role, but demonstrable experience editing within a technical domain and curiosity in the field are a must.

You will be joining LeadDev at an incredibly exciting time, with opportunities to learn new skills and progress your career within a fast-growing, high-performing, and supportive team.
