Rick is the Developer Experience Lead at Wise, where he owns the internal developer platform built on Backstage. He drives productivity by engineering “paved roads”—golden paths with automated guardrails that balance startup velocity with banking-grade security. With over 20 years of engineering leadership experience, Rick specializes in scaling DevEx and DevOps cultures. He also directs the WiseStart Academy, ensuring early-career engineers are rapidly enabled to contribute meaningfully. Rick is passionate about creating environments where platform engineering allows teams to move fast without breaking things.
