Rachael Wonnacott

Rachael Wonnacott is Head of Cloud Engineering at Fidelity International, where she leads platform engineering teams building infrastructure at enterprise scale. She came to engineering management in 2023, directly into the ‘efficiency era’, with no inherited hypergrowth playbook to fall back on. That meant interrogating what “good management” actually meant from the start, rather than inheriting a definition from a more forgiving moment. With a decade of technical experience, she had watched the definition shift before she had to live it, and had worked under managers from different eras long enough to see those differences create real friction.
