Wambui Kinya is the Vice President of Partner Engineering at Andela, a technology company that builds high performing distributed engineering teams by investing in Africa’s most talented software engineers. Founded on the premise that brilliance is evenly distributed, Andela has hired more than 1,300 software engineers, with its largest engineering centres in Lagos, Nairobi, Kampala, and Kigali, a growing presence in Cairo and Accra, and offices in NYC, SF, and Austin. As Vice President of Partner Engineering, Wambui leads Andela’s technology delivery to the global engineering teams we have embedded our developers, supports our developer integration and their capacity to go on and become leading technologists.
Wambui was formerly Group Managing Director, Pan Africa and South America, for global technology consulting firm ThoughtWorks. Currently based in Nairobi, Wambui has been in the professional services (digital, mobile marketing and technology consulting) industry for twenty years and has worked in North America, Europe and Africa for companies such as Praekelt Consulting, IBM Global Business Services and Digitas (Publicis Groupe).
Wambui is currently on the boards of Andela Kenya Limited (Chair), Building Markets and a member of ConvrtX and WorkTribe Dyanmics advisory clouds.
