Monica Bajaj is an award-winning engineering leader with decades of industry experience building and scaling global diverse teams across both the consumer and enterprise space. She is currently VP of Engineering at Auth0 (a division of Okta) where she empowers on creating a frictionless developer experience ensuring ease of mind for her customers by focusing on building scalable and secure identity solutions.
 
Prior to Okta she was a Senior Director of Product and Engineering at Workday where she led the efforts of re- platforming Workday Community as a secure and scalable SaaS platform.focusing on driving personalization , increased engagement  and enabled self-service for internal and external users.
Before Workday, she was responsible for spearheading the AI Product portfolio for the Talent Management Product line at Ultimate Software (now UKG). She led the ML driven voice of employee platform product line that provides organizations and leaders with analytics and actionable insights for improving engagement and retention. In addition to this , she built and launched a performance management offering with NLP driven performance feedback and themes, performance goals, reviews etc.
Prior to UKG, she was the  Engineering Head at Perforce, responsible for their VCS core business  supporting 100K plus developers across multiple industries including Gaming and DevOps industries.
 
Monica earned a Masters in Computer Science from IIT Mumbai, India. Outside of work Monica is very active in programs around mentorship, diversity, and uplifting women and young girls. She has won several awards as a  Mentor of the Year 2021 award “ and has been recognized as top 60 Women technical leaders by the Girl Geek X Community.  She has also served  on the board as Technology and Chief Compliance Officer for Women in Localization.

Why is inclusion important and what are the aspects of an inclusive team?

Diversity is important, but at the same time, if we do not have an inclusive environment, the diverse teams we build can fall apart.
