Hustle culture — where stress, hard work, and long hours are considered the key to success — has long been pervasive in the tech industry.
Even within organizations that have traditionally valued balance, the pressure of needing to do more with less, combined with stress caused by the world outside of work, may be creating an environment ripe for burnout. I believe one of our most critical responsibilities as leaders is fostering a supportive and resilient engineering culture through managing and minimizing work stress.
