This is an unapologetically radical talk about empowering individuals, teams and communities - starting with blue sky idealism, and ending on practical steps for engineering leaders.I’ve spent the past few years focused on building tech pathways, opportunities and training for underserved communities, such as refugee, female and Black talent. It works: they get hired by companies like Starling Bank, KPMG and Beamery. But there’s an enormous structural issue which is still pervasive - and it’s storing up a huge problem for the future of the whole tech industry.
